Today we be mostly Gybing. Believe it or not this was crossing Bass Strait in the 2007 Sydney – Hobart Yacht Race. We won Division E on “Zephyr”. Not bad for the 1st attempt.
I have been sailing for about 8 years but I’m taking a year or 2 off to tend to the rest of my life. Offshore yacht racing tends to take up a little of yer time. It’s fun tho.
Here’s a couple of Videos the ABC helicopter got of us off the coast of Tasmania – http://www.youtube.com/user/DontSailBackwards because we were coming 5th overall towards the end of day 2 and in with a chance. Then the wind stopped.
Here’s us winning the Sydney – Hobart (for the 1st 8-1/2 hours).
There are some aerial fotos here . For the technical, Zephyr is a Farr 1020 -10.2 metres long (34 feet)
More to come … someday
