I think the Difference between our programming experiences here is that I called it quits while the Vic 20 was still hot property (well, ok the C64 & Atari thingy were the shiz) & took a 20-year break. Last year I drank of the Koolaid and wrote PDA apps in .NET, but this year I'm back programming embedded systems with memory measured in KB's! Looking forward to reading of your adventures.
